Bill,
Thankyou for your kind offer of assistance. I did go to the web page
and was excited to see other Mariners for the first time. Our boat
"California Dreamer II" was owned by an older couple who sailed it to Loreto
Baja Mexico. Then they moved ashore and left the boat sit. About
8 years ago I bought it. I had the deck redone, new heavier stainless
rigging and chainplates. Last month I sailed it to La Paz and hauled
out. The bottom recieved four coats of Hemple paint, and a new depth
transducer, a new cutlass bearing and stainless stell prop shaft.
CD II lives in Puerto Escondido, near Loreto. It is a wonderful place
for a boat. A small store is at the end of a five min. dingy ride.
13 miles by taxi is the town of Loreto which is large enough to have most
supplies but small enough to be non-touristy. Loreto is a two hour
plane ride south of Los Angeles on Aero California.
Attached is a double picture of her. There have been no fees for mooring
or anything in the last 4 years. I would be glad to talk to anyone
that wants to have a nice boat / vacation home in Mexico.
