"Champagne"
1968 Mariner 31, Hull# 4
Owners:John Seyna - Williamson, NY - USA
Greetings,
I just recently purchased an older wooden Mariner 31 from a gentleman in
Ohio. The boat is 1968, and the hull number is engraved as CH #4. I'm not
sure what the CH designates, but I imagine it was the 4th boat built that
year?
She is being renamed Champagne. The previous name was Sirena, and before
that it was Voyager, from Vermilion Ohio. Her new home base will be Sodus
Bay on Lake Ontario.
As I said, this is a wooden mariner 31, and from what I can gather it must
have been one of the very last woodys built. As the fiberglass boats were
started that same year. The previous owner took good care of her, and she
is in remarkable shape. I do plan to make several more improvements throughout
the next year or so. The engine is a 2cyl, 20hp, Albin diesel (Sweden),
with a 40gallon fuel tank.
I have many pictures and I'm sure as things progress, there will be many
more. I'll enclose a few here, more to follow.
