Triad II was built in Japan (Far East Yachts) in 1971 and as soon she was completed , she was exported to the U.S.A.
Her first owner (1972) were Messrs Blue Peter Charters Inc. of Los Angeles
California-U.S.A.
Her second owners (1977) were members of the Stolnitz family (Scott, Art and Suzanne) also of Los Angeles -California
Her third owner (1979) was Mr. Bruce Decker now living in San Diego-California. No doubt that Bruce Decker and his wife Kathleen are-out from her seven owners from her construction- the ones who sail her in longer legs. They sailed from California to Socorro and from there to the Marquesas, Tuomotos, Societies, Loyalties, Vanuatu, Ratonga, Tonga, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia and Australia.
Her fourth owners (1985) were Mr. Malcom Lee and his wife Joanne Lee of Australia. They kindly prepared some comments of their involvement sailing Triad II which are now transcribed-with their permission-in Stories on Triad II on this home page.
Her fifth owner (1990) was Mr.Bernard Wilson of Queensland-Australia. Bernie sailed her also quite extensively in the paradisiacal waters of the Queensland coast
Her sixth owner (1994) was Mr. Julian Manning of Brisbane-Australia.
Her seventh owners (1996) Mr. and Mrs. Rolo Mata of Perth-Western Australia.
Current owners James and Cathy Saint bought TriadII in 2002.
This from Cathy and James Saint:
"Hello Mariner Owners:
My name is Cathy Saint. I and my husband James have just become
the latest owners of Mariner 32 yacht Triad II (hull number 33).
We are in Fremantle Western Australia and Triad II is as of yesterday penned
at Fremantle Sailing Club. James is a marine engineer and I am a
navigating offficer so we plan to get Traid II back into her blue water
element before too long! However she has extensive rot in her plywood
deck, parts of her coachhouse and inside the cockpit - so we plan to sail
her gently this summer and replace her deck, coach house and cockpit next
winter. We have seen the excellent articles on the website already
- but if anyone else has pearls of wisdom to offer us we would be only
too glad to hear from them!
Regards, James and Cathy Saint"
