Capella is a 1972 Mariner 31, s.n. 147. Ship has had four owners with the first owner making two trips to Japan to inspect construction prior to delivery with delivery being by ocean transport. I was told the first owner was a retired Navy Officer who passed away before he could enjoy his ship and it was sold to the second owner, John Burkhardt, jr. of Mundelein IL. Mr. Mundelein sailed Capella for five years until selling in 1979 to Chad Hensley of Des Moines who sailed her on Lake Rathbun IA until 1997. Sitting on a triple axle trailer near Cedar Rapids for the time being.
