Hi there. Here follows some info on FROLIC, a Mariner 35 (wood).FROLIC (doc # 560071) 1965 . Built in Yokuska, Japan. Mahogany, ipol (oak), copper rivets, diesel.Ed and Margot Siegmann, Newburyport, Mass: However sail out of Rockland,Maine.Built for Magruder in 1965. Wrecked in hurricane, Tarpolin Cove, Mass 1976.Owner killed.Bought at the 1979 Wooden Boat Show, Newport RI. Regular wood boat maintenance each year plus: Mast step and floor timbers1980/81, new transom, 12 ribs, 4planks, port sheer strake, port deck, etcetc 1990/93. Original spruce masts. Surveyed every 4 years. Passed withflying colors again this year. Phew...We spend 2-3 mo each summer sailing Penobscot Bay, Frenchmans Bay, Jonesportand environs.Attached photo taken last year off Swan's Island, Maine.Stripping and varnishing spars as I write...pleasant sailing and peace.
