Ahoy Mariner owners. My name is Kevin Larson. My boat is Gold Dust. She is registered as a Mariner 32. She was built in 1970 and is hull # 80 and thus leading to confusion. She has a clipper bow and a traditional cockpit (31). On deck there is a manual winch forward and davits aft. The cockpit is protected by a sturdy dodger and and cockpit thingees all around. Below there are cabinets to port behind the salon back cushions and a quarterberth on the starboard side. The cabin is kept toasty warm by a wood burning stove(tiny tot) on the port forward bulkhead. I have two water(fresh) tanks under P/S berths that absolutely won't open to inspect or clean. The fresh water is pumped by foot or hand at each sink. The galley has an alcohol stove (soon to be replaced by propane) and the cooler is powered by ice.
I believe the boat was purchased by Jerry Goldman who sailed the San Francisco bay for years until his death. I found a marine radio license issued to a Jon Maloney from 1979-1984 for Gold Dust . Next name is Stephen Meadows who sold her to a John Fricker. He sold the boat to an unidentified person who didn't complete payments so then he got the boat back and now I enter the picture. Somewhere between Jon Maloney and John Fricker the boat has fallen into deep despair.
I am now in the process of a complete redo ,one step at a time. The mizzen mast has been removed and I"m now looking for a aluminum replacement. The main is metal w/wood boom so I thought I'd keep the same for the mizzen. The main deck has many rot spots as well as the aft bulkhead (cabin). So I retire in 1 month so no more excuses. I thought I could send pictures with this but It will have to be another time. My Mariner web name is Nivek47 when you see it. thanks
