"Independence"
1971 Mariner 32 - Hull# 36
Owners: Dan Shelley. - San Juan Island, WA- USA

Some History on Independence: Original Name "Sea Spirit" than "Bodicea" now " Independence" George T. Muller bought the boat in Huntington, NY in 1981, sailed it to Long Island south shore, trucked it to New Orleans in 1982. In 1982 sailed/motored it to Homestead, Fl. sailed it to Bahamas and lived aboard for 5 1/2 months, sailed and lived aboard in the Florida Keys. In 1989 had it trucked to the Great Salt Lake, Salt Lake City. It went into storage in 1990. Like other Mariners it is in bad need of rebuilding: deck, cabin top etc, etc.

Hello,
My name is Dan Shelley I have just returned from Salt Lake City where I purchased "Independence" hull #36 a 1972 mariner 32 from George Muller,
where she has been on a trailer for more than 12 years. In March or April of 2008 I will trailer her back to San Juan Island Washington where I live and
begin a major restoration. The decks, cabin top and sides will most likely all have to be replaced. I am looking forward to bringing her back to better
than new condition. It was important to George that she went to someone that would make this happen. I hope I don't disappoint. I will be updating as
work progresses with photos etc.. I presently own a 1972 San Juan 24 that I completely restored in 2002, my third boat project.I have been visiting this
great website for quite a while. I would like to suggest that there be dates on entries as it's difficult to tell when info is added and peoples profiles took place.
Thanks,
Dan Shelley
