"Natsukaze"
1970 Mariner 31 Hull#73
Owner: Bill Miller, Stockton, Ca. USA

Previous Names: "The Margie" / "Summerwind"

Notes from previous owners Margie and Jerry Stiles of "The Margie" : Our boat sat unattended for approximately 12 years so her decks etc. need some trueTLC. Jerry has already started on the cockpit and your 'project' link will be of great service to him for that. The boat is out of the water until next week for the bottom paint (no blisters!) and through hulls to be replaced then into the water across from where our other boat is so we can work on her daily... oh, we live on our 'houseboat' in Stockton, CA. We are hoping to have her ready by fall of 2002 for sailing... but that will be with daily care...

Notes from previous owner Larry Sampson of "Summerwind": Originall "The Margie" was purchased as a lien sale for $1.00 by my friend Jerry Stiles. Her hull and deck was rebuilt before I purchased her. Too date her interior has been restored, exterior bright work redone. The 40hp perkins diesel needed nothing done to it except basic maintenance. we are in the process in finding a mast and mizzen, standing and running rigging.

Purchased from Jerry Stiles and Larry Samson on 4-19-09. Decided to call her "Natsukaze" which is a Japanese translation of her name"Summerwind".
I understand she was originally "The Margie". Jerry and Larry have done a great job on the hull and decks. I am starting a major rebuild to include re-wiring all
electrical, cockpit rebuild, new fuel tank, bowsprit, new (alum.) masts, sails and rigging.
