I live aboard my Mariner at Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California where I work as a Harbor Patrol Officer at a place called Two Harbors. In my duties as Harbor Patrolman I have seen at least 20 different Mariners in the last ten years. I have actually made friends with many of the owners and if there is anything I can do to help you with your Association please let me know. I am only on-line 4 to 5 days a month as things are very primitive on the Island and I have access to the Internet only when I come to the mainland. I am currently in the process of rebuild my cockpit as I write this e-mail. The main reason I came to the mainland this week is to get the last of the hardware for the rebuild. Last year I completed the complete overhaul and upgrade of my diesel from a Perkins 4-107 to a 4-108. (yes there is a real difference) After the cockpit rebuild is complete (and I have some surgery done on my kidney that I have been putting off for a year) I am painting the boat from the bottom of the masts to the bottom of the keel. I will keep you posted as to my progress.
