Hello,
My name is Terry Bradlow and I just purchased my first Mariner 40 hull # 71 built in 1971. She needs a total refit and has been neglected by her previous owners. I found her in Oriental, North Carolina a small sailing community, population approx 800. She is a USCG documented vessel # 533789 and formerly hailed from Keen, New Hampshire. Plans are to overhaul the engine, replace all decks, cockpit, cabin sides and top. The interior wood is good and just needs to be refinished. I'm planning on this to be a 3 year restoration project. I'll probably be the new PEST on the site asking questions trying to figure this all out. I will say if it were not for this site, and the owners that have already help me with answers, I probably would have not ventured into this. I'm posting pictures of what she looks like now and will follow up with after pictures as the work progresses. The goal is heading to the islands and lobster on the beach...
