"Tranquila"
1970 Mariner 31, Hull# 63
Owners: Lizzie Hammond - Pullman, WA - USA
Moored in Coyote Bay, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
I am still a relatively new sailor... began
sailing just 5 years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area- crewing on small
keelboats and dinghies. Began working in Wilderness Education which brought
me to the National Outdoor Leadership School- NOLS Mexico down on the Baja
peninsula. I have been running the NOLS Mexico branch and helping to oversee
our various wilderness education programs- including a sailing program with
a fleet of 14 Drascombe longboats
(an open-cockpit glass yawl- outfitted as a training boat for teaching coastal
sailing and navigation).I fell in love with the Vermillion Sea, and was
lucky enough to find Tranquila for sale two years ago in the Marina de La
Paz. I bought her from a very cool young woman named Jasmine, who acquired
the boat to single-hand, and then acquired another sailing partner with
a Mariner 36! They gave me a great gift in la Tranquila! I am learning a
nautical mile a minute, and looking forward to many great cruising years
ahead.
